#MELOGivesBack July 2020

Hello lovely people!

I finally got down earlier this week to pull out the numbers for July, and made a donation of $135 to Seed Indigenous Youth Climate Network., Australia’s first network of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people for climate justice, and a branch of the Australian Youth Climate Coalition.

Obviously it’s a small amount, but I also feel really happy to be able to give back to the community and support a worthy cause. Most importantly, I couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you so so much for your continued support during this difficult time, it means a lot to me and this little business!

For August, I’m choosing to donate to two charities: Two Good Co. and Food Bank Singapore. This 9 August, Singapore celebrates her 55th year of independence, and I always feel oddly patriotic throughout the month. I believe most Singaporeans would agree with me that food, or eating, is THE favourite past time of our nation (together with shopping as a close second), so I thought it was only apt that I contribute to these two organisations that have been, and continue to in these unprecedented times, support vulnerable communities through honest food. Food Bank Singapore in particular is running a campaign, Feed the City - Take-away Edition, as a way of supporting both F&B businesses and underprivileged communities that have been so hard-hit by COVID-19.

With everything that’s happening around us - climate change, covid, black lives matter - I’ve never felt more urgently the need to do something. I know I’m just one person and my personal efforts are small, but I do hope they can come together with everyone else’s and achieve something substantial.
